New Student Financial FAQs


Welcome new students! Find out all you need to know to manage your student finances here. If you don't see your question, please contact us.
  • Charges on your account need to be paid by the last day of the current semester. Failure to pay by the deadline will result in a hold on your account, and your classes for the next semester will be dropped.

  • You can view and manage your account from your Student Center. Click the button below for in-depth instructions with a video tutorial.

    1. Login to myBYUH using BYUH Net ID and password.
    2. Locate the 'School' section at the top of the page and select 'Student Center' from the options.
    3. To view your account details, select ‘Account Activity’ from the drop-down menu in the 'Finances' section and push the arrow to the right.

    Any financial aid you receive will show as a payment on the next page. Your financial aid will be disbursed to your account following the disbursement date (typically a week or two after the semester begins).

  • You can visit the Cashier's Office (located in LSB 193) for a paper check Monday through Friday, from 10 am to 3 pm HST.

    Or set up direct deposit to get your paycheck sent straight to your bank account:

    1. Login to myBYUH Dashboard using BYUH Net ID and password.
    2. Locate the 'Work' section and select 'Workday.'
    3. Click 'Pay' on the right sidebar and then select 'Payment Elections.'
    4. Click 'Add' and add your bank account information.
    5. Under 'Payment Elections' fill out the necessary information and select 'OK.'
    How to Set Up Direct Deposit

    1. Login to myBYUH using your BYUH Net ID and password.
    2. Locate the 'School' section at the top of the page and select 'Student Center' from the options.
    3. Click 'Make a Payment' under the 'Finances' section to open the transaction overview page.
    4. Click 'Statements' on the left sidebar and select the icon below 'View' to open your statement document.

  • If you need a refund, it will come as a credit to your student account. To get the refund sent to your bank account, sign up for e-refunds and then contact Financial Services by calling (808) 675-3706 or email financialservices@byuh.edu.

  • Your tax forms will be sent to you from the university before tax day. To get your forms as soon as possible, you can opt-in to receive an electronic copy of your W-2 and 1098-T tax forms. If you choose to receive a paper copy, make sure your mailing address is updated on your Student Center.

    Here is how you can retrieve an online 1098-T form:

    1. Login to myBYUH using your BYUH Net ID and password.
    2. Locate the 'School' section at the top of the page and select 'Student Center' from the options.
    3. Under the ‘Finances’ section, click on the drop-down menu.
    4. Select ‘View 1098-T’ and then click the double arrows.
    5. Click ‘Grant Consent’ to finish the retrieval.
