Fixed Assets

Fixed Assets

The Fixed Assets Department maintains the records for all capital equipment used by the University.  University Capital Equipment cost $2500 or more and have a useful life of one or more years.  The asset is capitalized and included on an inventory record kept at Financial Services.

Equipment Tag Information

Each capital asset should be tagged with a BLUE BARCODE TAG such as the one shown below. The tag helps to identify each asset.

Equipment which costs less than $2,500 is regarded as non-capital equipment and is the sole responsibility of the department that purchased the equipment. To help you keep track of your non-capitalized equipment, we have RED inventory tags available for you.
